Well, here’s a car from our collection that I really hate having to sell due to the economy. This is Melanie, one of the best Nash Metropolitan’s to be found anywhere. Actually, she’s a Met and a ½ because she has a matching trailer which was made from the back half of a less fortunate Met, so luggage space won’t ever be a problem. Melanie is a 1959 convertible that has been extensively renovated and upgraded that everyone just loves, but only one lucky person will become her new owner. She’s painted a beautiful 2 tone deep metallic burgundy over charcoal grey with gold pin striping and rides on brand new chrome reverse wheels with wide white wall Diamondback tires. She also has 5 coats of hand rubbed clear over her base paint to give her that deep gloss and shine to compliment her excellent chrome throughout. In the cabin she’s been fitted with a matching 2 tone custom hand stitched interior, custom tilt steering wheel, new Dolphin gauges, custom fitted Heat and A/C, console with shifter and arm rest, map pockets, and a new CD Stereo audio system complete with IPOD jack and detachable face plate. All of her lights and instruments burn bright and work properly, as do her upgraded front disc brakes and new Flow Master dual exhaust system…which sounds great with her deep tone and growl emanating from the Chevrolet 305 V8 under the bonnet that is mated to an automatic transmission with a Locar shifter. The Chevy V8 drive train completely transforms the car…she’s a pleasure to drive and plenty fast, but not out of control or squirrelly.
